Commodore Hull School : ウィキペディア英語版 | Commodore Hull School
The Commodore Hull School, now also known as the Commodore Hull School Apartments, is a former elementary school at 130 Oak Avenue in Shelton, Connecticut. It was built in 1907, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.〔 It is believed to be the only elementary school in Connecticut constructed of terra cotta blocks and reinforced concrete construction, and is significant as an example of the movement towards completely fireproof building, in general stirred by the 1871 great fire of Chicago. Other schools were being built of wood frame construction however. The school's construction used the Kahn system of reinforced concrete. Its design is "bold, colorful, and striking".〔 and (''Accompanying 9 photos, exterior and interior'' )〕 ==See also==
